Mrs. Catherine A. Jack, 73, of 452 Burnell St., died Frida y in the
Vancouver General Hospital. Funeral services will be held in Portage la Prairi e onWednesday ay at 2 pm in Rea's Funeral Home, with burial in Hillside Cemet ery. Mrs. Jack was born in Holland, Ont., and came to Por tage la Prairie as a girl. She married Thomas Jack, of High Bluff, in 189 2. At th etime of his death in 1921 she moved to Winnipeg, where she ha s lived since then. Surviving are four sons: Hugh, St. Boniface; Thoma s L., with the Veterans' Guard; Robert J. and Roy M., Winnipeg: four dau ghters: Mrs. W. T. Coulter, Vancouver; Mrs H. Bushell, Portage la Prairie ; Mrs. F. Whitfield, Winnipeg; Mrs. R. Dadson, Winnipeg, and 18 gra ndchildren. There are three brothers: Robert Vollett, Winnipeg; Georg e, Portag ela Prairie; and Richard, Regina; and a sister, Mrs. Margare t Owens, Winnipeg.

Captain John Wakeman. He was appointed Deputy to the Genera l Court, from Fairfield, and served at 23 sessions from 169 0 to 1706. He wasappointed Commissioner in 1695, 1696, an d 1697. He was also Justice forFairfield in 1698. He was ap pointed Lieutenant in May 1697 and Captain in May1704. He l eft an estate of about 1,000 pounds.
